Resveratrol, an ingredient in red wine shows promise in slowing the aging process in obese mice. Mice were subjected to an endurance test, in which they were run to exaustion. Mice given resveratrol were shown to actually double their endurance. Resveratrol may actually mimic a restricted calorie diet and may thus provide the benefits of such a diet
